Conference Art Competition
Call for Artists
Art Competition Details
OICWA is seeking original artwork by Native American artists to be considered for use as the image for the
2010 Oklahoma Indian Child Welfare Conference. The winning image will be printed in conference
materials and posted on OICWA's web site.

Who should submit artwork?
OICWA welcomes and encourages interested Native American artists of all ages  to participate in the 2010
Conference Art Competition.

What will the winning artist receive?
The selected artist will receive $500.00 and exhibit space during the conference.

Submission Requirements
•  Completed Art Competition Registration Form (including copy of membership/CDIB)
•  Artist Biography
•  Color photocopy or image file (in JPEG or PDF format) of artwork

Artwork Parameters
•  Preferred medium for original artwork is acrylic paint, watercolor, pen/ink, or colored pencil
•  Must be thematically appropriate (i.e., convey support for OICWA's mission or 2010 conference theme or
objectives)
•  Should be no more than 8" x 10.5" in height or width
•  Electronic image must be submitted in JPEG or PDF format

Use of Artwork/Image Terms
Selected artist must agree with Use of Artwork/Image Terms.

Submission Deadline: September 15, 2010 (Postmarked date if mailed)
Selected Artist will be notified by September 30, 2010
Option 1: Print, complete, and mail Art Competition Registration Form       and color photocopy or
image file (in JPEG or PDF format on CD) of artwork to OICWA at P.O. Box 1274, Shawnee, OK 74802

Option 2: If you have Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Professional, download Art Competition Registration Form,
complete interactive fields, save, and send with image file of artwork (in JPEG or PDF format) as email
attachments to Carmin Tecumseh-Williams at Carmin-Tecumseh@cherokee.org.
